Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 29, 2026
Consultants for America’s Veterans (“CAV,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit consultvets.com or another CAV website or page that links to this policy, contact us, submit a form, apply for a position, or otherwise interact with us online (collectively, the “Site”).
This policy applies to information collected through the Site. It does not replace any separate notice or agreement that may apply when you become a client, work with us in a professional capacity, or use a third-party service that has its own privacy policy.
Information we collect
Information you provide
We collect information you choose to provide, which may include:
- Contact information, such as your name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, organization, and professional role.
- Inquiry and service information, such as the reason for contacting us, the type of assistance you are seeking, deadlines, preferred contact method, and the contents of your message.
- Veteran, disability, and case-related information that you include in a form or communication. This information may be sensitive and may include details about military service, disability, health, claims, appeals, or legal and administrative matters.
- Appointment and event information, if you request or manage a booking.
- Applicant information, if you apply for a position or submit a resume, such as your work history, education, qualifications, references, and documents you provide.
- Comment and account information, if commenting or account features are available, including information entered in the comment or account form.
- Communication preferences, including newsletter or marketing choices.
Protect sensitive information: Please do not submit Social Security numbers, financial-account details, login credentials, complete medical records, or other highly sensitive documents through a general website form unless CAV specifically requests the information and provides an approved method for sending it.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Site, CAV and its service providers may automatically collect:
- Internet Protocol (IP) address and approximate location derived from it;
- browser, device, operating-system, and language information;
- pages viewed, links or buttons used, referring and exit pages, timestamps, and session activity;
- cookie identifiers, advertising identifiers, and similar online identifiers;
- information about an advertisement or campaign that led you to the Site and whether a measured action occurred; and
- cookie-consent choices and related records.
This information is collected through server logs, cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies.
How we use information
We may use information to:
- respond to inquiries and provide information or services you request;
- evaluate a potential engagement and communicate about claims, appeals, consulting, or other CAV services;
- administer contact forms, appointments, job applications, comments, and accounts;
- maintain contact and relationship records in our customer-relationship systems;
- send newsletters or marketing communications when permitted by law and consistent with your choices;
- operate, maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the Site;
- understand Site traffic, visitor engagement, and the effectiveness of our communications and advertising;
- detect spam, fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- comply with law, legal process, professional obligations, and recordkeeping requirements; and
- establish, exercise, or defend legal rights.
We use the substance of veteran, disability, health, and case-related inquiries to respond to the request, evaluate or provide requested services, meet legal obligations, and protect legal rights. We do not use the substance of those inquiries for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information based on one or more of the following: your consent; steps requested before entering into or performing an agreement; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Site and our services; and compliance with legal obligations.
Cookies and similar technologies
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for several purposes:
- Strictly necessary and security technologies support core Site operation, remember privacy choices, prevent spam and abuse, and protect forms and accounts.
- Functional technologies remember choices and support requested Site features.
- Analytics technologies help us understand visits, page use, traffic sources, and Site performance.
- Advertising technologies help measure advertising, attribute conversions, and, where enabled and permitted, deliver or evaluate advertising across services.
We use CookieYes to manage privacy choices and related consent records where its preference control is available. Depending on its configuration, a consent record may include the domain, date, consent identifier, general jurisdiction, a partially masked IP address, and category-level choices.
When the CookieYes preference control is displayed, you can use it to accept, reject, or adjust nonessential-cookie categories. If the control is not displayed, you can restrict or delete cookies through your browser and contact us to exercise an applicable opt-out right. Blocking some technologies may affect Site features. Changing a choice applies prospectively and does not require a service provider to delete information already processed; contact us if you wish to make a separate privacy request.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers offer a legacy Do Not Track (DNT) setting. Because there is no uniform industry standard for interpreting DNT signals, the Site does not currently respond to legacy DNT signals. You can use the choices described in this policy instead.
Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a browser-based opt-out signal. Where applicable law requires us to honor GPC, we treat a GPC signal received by our consent-management system as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising for that browser. If the Site does not visibly confirm the choice, you may also submit the request using the contact methods in this policy.
Forms, analytics, advertising, and other services
- Forminator operates CAV’s website forms. Information submitted through a form may be stored in the Site’s WordPress database, delivered to authorized CAV personnel by email, and retained in email or operational logs.
- HubSpot provides customer-relationship and website-analytics functions. Its tracking code may process website activity, IP address, online identifiers, timestamps, and pages visited. Depending on CAV’s HubSpot settings and your consent choices, HubSpot may associate Site activity with contact information you provide.
- Google Tag Manager manages measurement and advertising tags. Tags currently used on the Site include Google Analytics 4 for traffic and usage measurement and Google Ads for advertising and conversion measurement. Google Analytics may collect a cookie or client identifier, approximate location, device and browser information, and Site interaction data. Google Ads may process advertising-interaction and conversion data.
- Meta Pixel may collect browser or device information, online identifiers, pages visited, and interaction or conversion events for advertising measurement and, where enabled and permitted, advertising purposes.
- Google reCAPTCHA is used on CAV forms to detect spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA uses risk analysis and may process device, browser, interaction, IP-address, and cookie information.
- CookieYes provides cookie-consent management and related records as described above.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices. For more information, review the privacy resources provided by HubSpot, Google, Meta, and CookieYes. Google’s Terms of Service also apply to reCAPTCHA.
You can additionally use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on and manage advertising preferences through the controls offered by Google and Meta. These third-party controls operate independently from CAV’s cookie preference control.
How we disclose information
We may disclose information:
- to vendors that host, operate, secure, analyze, or support the Site and our communications, including form, email-delivery, customer-relationship, consent-management, analytics, advertising, spam-prevention, and security providers;
- to CAV personnel, contractors, professional advisers, or service partners who need the information for an authorized purpose;
- with your direction or consent, including when coordination with an attorney, accredited representative, government agency, or another party is needed for a requested service;
- when required by law, subpoena, court order, legal process, or governmental request;
- when reasonably necessary to protect CAV, our visitors, clients, or others, investigate wrongdoing, or enforce agreements; and
- in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to appropriate protections.
We may also use or disclose information that has been aggregated or deidentified so that it cannot reasonably identify you.
CAV does not sell personal information for money. Some privacy laws define “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” broadly enough to include certain disclosures of online identifiers and Site activity to advertising or analytics providers. Where those laws apply, you may use an available cookie preference control to opt out of advertising technologies or contact us to submit a request.
Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to respond to you, provide services, maintain business and relationship records, manage applications, meet legal and professional obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the Site and CAV. Retention periods vary based on the type and sensitivity of the information, the relationship involved, legal requirements, and operational needs.
Form submissions and related communications may remain in the Site database, email systems, HubSpot, backups, and security or operational logs until deleted under the applicable retention process. Approved public comments may remain visible until removed. Cookie and consent records are retained according to the relevant cookie duration and CookieYes configuration.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No website, email, database, or transmission method is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Use an approved secure method rather than a general website form or ordinary email when CAV asks you to transmit highly sensitive records.
Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on where you live and subject to legal exceptions, you may have the right to access, obtain a copy of, correct, delete, or request portability of personal information; restrict or object to certain processing; or opt out of a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. You may also unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in the message. We may still send nonmarketing communications relating to a request or relationship.
We may need to verify your identity and request details before completing a request. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, but we may require proof of authority and identity verification. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
To make a request, email connect@consultvets.com or call 1-844-283-9818. If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that provides the right, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
California Privacy Notice
This section supplements the rest of this policy for California residents. CAV provides these disclosures and rights where the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, the CCPA), applies. Providing this notice does not concede that CAV meets the CCPA’s statutory business thresholds or that no exemption applies.

CAV has not sold personal information for money during the preceding 12 months. CAV may disclose online identifiers, Internet activity, approximate location, and related inferences to analytics and advertising providers in ways that the CCPA may define as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may opt out using an available CookieYes privacy control, a recognized GPC signal where supported, or the contact methods below. CAV does not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Subject to applicable exceptions, California residents may have the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information CAV maintains; delete personal information; correct inaccurate personal information; opt out of sale or sharing; limit the use or disclosure of sensitive personal information when used beyond permitted purposes; and receive equal treatment when exercising a privacy right.
Submit a request by emailing connect@consultvets.com or calling 1-844-283-9818. Describe the right you wish to exercise and the information or interaction involved. We may verify your identity and authority before completing a request. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, but we may require proof of authorization and direct identity confirmation. We generally respond within the period required by applicable law and will explain any denial and available appeal process.
California’s “Shine the Light” law may permit California customers to request information about disclosures of certain personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing. CAV does not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing without an applicable choice or authorization. Questions may be sent to the contact information below.
Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
International processing
CAV and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries whose privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, we use appropriate measures for international transfers.
Third-party sites and embedded content
The Site may link to or embed content from third-party websites. Those parties may collect information when you interact with their content, and their privacy practices are governed by their own notices. CAV is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology, services, or legal requirements. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the effective date. If a change is material, we may provide an additional notice where appropriate. We review this policy at least annually.
